During a environmental impact study done in a mining zone located in Angangeo Mich. where it had been extracted silver intensively since XVII century, we saw that there was an anthocyanin synthesis increment in Bidens odorata related with silver concentration in soil.
The increments of silver concentration were accompanied with important phenotypical changes in Bidens odorata like nodal distance enlargement, leaves and fruciferous bodies morphological changes, as well as a generalized increasing in the anthocyanin synthesis in the whole plant.
It is well known that (Bz2) it´s the gen that codifies for anthocyanin transport to vacuole, and is a reporter gen for non classical genetic recombinations, this is why our observation indicates a mutator Mu activity increase.
